Dispute Resolution, Employment
Anna is recommended by Legal 500.
Having obtained a History degree at Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, completing her conversion course at Oxford Brookes and her LPC at Bristol University, Anna qualified as a solicitor in 1998. She joined Rowberry Morris in January 2011 and became a partner in 2012. She is an employment law specialist and an ACTAPS (Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists) registered contentious trust and probate specialist.
Employment
Anna advises employers and employees in relation to contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
Areas covered include investigations, recruitment, appraisal, sickness and absence management, flexible working, contracts of employment, restrictive covenants, staff handbooks and employment processes, and systems and reorganisations.
Anna also advises employers and employees in relation to employment disputes in the employment tribunals and courts.
Areas covered include investigations, restrictive covenants, unfair dismissal, discrimination (including in relation to age, sex, maternity and disability) breach of contract and wrongful dismissal, whistleblowing and redundancy.
Settlement Agreements
These are a means of bringing employment to an end in an agreed and confidential way. Anna regularly prepares comprehensive, bespoke settlement agreements for employers and advises both employers and employees in relation to settlement agreements. Frequently, this is done for a fixed or capped fee, and turned around very quickly.
Contentious Trust and Probate
As a registered contentious trust and probate specialist, Anna has over 20 years’ experience in bringing and defending claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Families and Dependants) Act 1975, and in challenging and upholding the validity of wills. She has acted for bereaved spouses, civil partners, siblings, step parents, step children, adoptive parents and adopted children, cohabitees and for executors and trustees.
Anna has acted as a trustee for over 20years and is currently a trustee of Citizens’ Advice Tadley. She can therefore offer practical advice and legal guidance to trustees.
ADR and Mediation
Anna is committed, wherever possible, to finding a resolution to contentious matters through alternative dispute resolution methods (‘ADR’), for example, mediation. When used appropriately, ADR can be a cost-effective and quick way of resolving any type of conflict or dispute informally and confidentially.
Outside of work, Anna enjoys running, walking, gardening and in quieter moments, cooking, reading, enjoying wine and good food with friends and family, and responding to the whims of very demanding cats.
