Our client is an international company with offices throughout Europe. The Head Office is in Switzerland. The company runs an alert line which allows staff to telephone anonymously to alert the company to problems and blow the whistle on serious issues. Staff are aware of the alert line and trained to understand that they can use it to blow the whistle and report wrongdoing.
Over a short space of time the company received a number of alerts, all identifying similar issues within the organisation. We were asked to investigate and report back to the company.
The work had to be undertaken urgently and discreetly. The report had to be comprehensive and had to address the issues, the risk the issues posed to the company and the options left available to the company to resolve the issues. Concerned employees had to be dealt with sensitively, encouraged to keep matters confidential and reassured that their concerns were being taken seriously. The company wanted to address the issues, reduce risk of any claims and prevent any reputational damage. Our report enabled them to do that.
